Why does my Asus gaming laptop need a high-wattage charger?
TUF and ROG laptops draw far more power than VivoBook/ZenBook. Use the original high-wattage Asus adapter rating; a 65W charger will not properly power a gaming model.
Asus uses a small barrel pin on many VivoBook and ZenBook models, USB-C on slimmer ones, and high-wattage barrel adapters on TUF/ROG gaming laptops. Gaming models need much higher wattage, so match the exact Asus adapter rating and connector from your old charger.
Each Asus charger lists wattage, output and connector. A low-watt charger on a TUF/ROG model will not keep up under load, so confirm the rating before buying.
